Rays poor form against Sheffield continues

Sheffield Steelers 4-1 Excel Hull Stingrays

The Sheffield Steelers once again beat the Excel Hull Stingrays in Elite League action tonight, as the South Yorkshire based side beat their East Yorkshire counterparts by four goals to one at Ice Sheffield.

The Stingrays haven't beaten the Steelers in Sheffield in their seven year history and that terrible run continued tonight thanks to goals from Brad Cruikshank, Matt Hubbauer, Jonathan Phillips and Jeff Legue.

Once again, defensive mistakes and poor finishing cost the Rays, with just Sylvain Cloutier's 32nd minute goal and Stephen Burns fight against Steelers defenceman Stephen Wood the only signs of resistance in another relatively simple win for the home side, despite the shot count ending in favour of the Steelers by just one
