Excel Hull Stingrays 2-5 Coventry Blaze
Sylvain Cloutier's former side, the Coventry Blaze, ended the Excel Hull Stingrays hopes of a four game game winning streak tonight with a 5-2 victory at the Hull Arena.
A Derek Campbell double gave the Blaze a 2-0 lead, however, James Archer netted his second goal and third point in three games for the Stingrays against his former side to halve the deficit.
In a closely fought game, Greg Owen then restored the two goal Coventry lead before Jason Silverthorn continued his hot form by scoring his eighth goal in seven games with 15 minutes remaining.
The Rays continued to push the Blaze back in the final 10 minutes of the game but goals from Jonathan Weaver and Luke Fulghum sealed the two points, somewhat unfairly, in favour of Coventry.
