25th October: Excel Hull Stingrays 4-3 Newcastle Vipers (After Shootout)

- The Stingrays won their second game in a row after a tight 4-3 shootout victory against the Newcastle Vipers. The game marked the Stingrays first ever shootout win in the Elite League, with previous shootout wins coming against the Sheffield Steelers (Yorkshire Cup) and in 05/06 against the Guildford Flames (EPL Cup Semi Final).

- Jeff Glowa produced a man of the match performance, with two goals and an assist, including a highlight reel goal with a huge deke around Vipers netminder, Andrew Verner.

- Konstantin Kalmikov recorded his fifth assist in just three games.

- Both Kalmikov and Matt Reynolds scored their penalty shots, whilst Marek Ivan and David Longstaff, who had earlier missed a penalty shot after Stuart Kerr had brought a player down on a breakaway, missed for the Vipers.

- Stuart Kerr and Chris McAllister dropped the gloves during a tough second period.
